Map Help
ICONS:
FIT MAP
Clicking on this icon allows the map to automatically fit to the screen.
ZOOM IN
After enabling this feature by clicking the icon, hold down the left mouse button and draw a rectangle around the desired area (release the mouse button when the rectangle is surrounding the entire area of interest).
ZOOM OUT
After enabling this feature by clicking the icon, hold down the left mouse button and draw a rectangle around the desired area (release the mouse button when the rectangle is surrounding the entire area of interest). HINT: A smaller rectangle makes the zoom out feature zoom out further than a larger rectangle would.
ZOOM FULL EXTENT
Clicking on this icon loads the original map on the screen.
PAN
The pan icon enables the user to grab the map and move it in any direction. To use this tool, simply hold down the left mouse button on the map and move the mouse to adjust the position of the map.
IDENTIFY
This tool selects the property record card for a particular parcel. After clicking this icon, a menu will appear on the left:

Select “Parcels” if the desired record card is for a parcel, and select “Condo” if the desired record card is for a condominium.
SELECT WITH RECTANGLE
This tool provides you with the ability to select features from the map by drawing a rectangle. After clicking this icon, a menu will appear on the left:

By default it will be on parcels, so if you desire to search by something other then parcels, the appropriate circle will have to be clicked.
“ Parcels”- Sets parcels as the selectable layer.
“ Land Sales”- Sets land sales as the selectable layer.
“ Imprvd Sales”- Sets improved sales as the selectable layer.
“ 20+ Acres”- Sets 20+ acres as the selectable layer.

SELECT WITH LINE
This tool provides you with the ability to select features from the map by drawing a line. After clicking this icon, a menu will appear on the left:

By default it will be on parcels, so if you desire to search by something other then parcels, the appropriate circle will have to be clicked.
“ Parcels”- Sets parcels as the selectable layer.
“ Land Sales”- Sets land sales as the selectable layer.
“ Impr Sales”- Sets improved sales as the selectable layer.
Click
the left mouse button on a parcel and then on another to start the line and you
continue to click to draw a line through the desired area (when you’re finished
double click the left mouse button).

parcel information on the left.
SELECT WITH SHAPE
This tool provides you with the ability to select features from the map by drawing a shape. After clicking this icon, a menu will appear on the left:

By default it will be on parcels, so if you desire to search by something other then parcels, the appropriate circle will have to be clicked.
“ Parcels”- Sets parcels as the selectable layer.
“ Land Sales”- Sets land sales as the selectable layer.
“ Impr Sales”- Sets improved sales as the selectable layer.
Click
the left mouse button on a parcel and then on another to start the shape and
then go away from that line to continue with the shape. From here you can
continue to click to draw any kind of shape you want to make a desired area
(when you’re finished double click the left mouse button).

After the area has been selected, the selected
parcels will be highlighted in yellow, the shape you made will be in a
faint red, and the parcel information on the left.

BUFFER
SELECTION
This icon allows you to create a search area around a selected parcel to find out such things as other parcels, sales, or improved sales nearby the selected parcel.
To use this
icon you need to be zoomed in so you are able to see the parcel you want to
start from. After you have done this you can proceed to click on the icon
for the buffer from the toolbar and then click
on the parcel you wish to start from. At this point you will have a screen on
the left that should look like the one above. Next click the down arrow so you
may choose how big of a search area you would like.

At this point need to fill in what type
of search you would like from one of the circles such as parcels, impr
sales(improved sales), or land sales. After you do this you can click on create
buffer and you will see the map adjust to your search and highlight the parcels
in yellow that meet your search and your starting parcel will be in red.

Here you can see the list of properties that met your search and you can
click to see the property record card to find out more information on that
specific parcel. You can also download the entire list of results. (Click here for further instructions.)
TOGGLE AERIAL PHOTO
This icon allows the user to view or not view the 2003 aerial photography of the selected area.
CLEAR HIGHLIGHT
This tool is used when a selection has been made that is no longer desirable. This will remove the dark orange highlights that appear when using the “Select with Rectangle” tool. This button will also remove the record set from the left data frame.
SHOW LEGEND
Clicking on this icon prompts a pop-up window:

This Legend explains what the colors and lines on the map signify.
MANAGE LAYERS
Clicking on this icon provides a list of different map features:

Clicking a checkbox in this menu enables or disables viewing any of the features and creates a map that is purpose specific.

Click the “
” button.
1. A pop-up message box will
appear, 
Click “

2. Another pop-up will appear
that shows the map and a legend on side of the screen:

Click the “File” button. Scroll down the file menu and select “Page Setup.”

3. The “Page Setup” box will
appear:

Make sure the following
selections are made:


Click “
.”
4. The Page Setup box will disappear. Click the “File” button. Scroll down the file menu and select “Print.”
5. The
“Print” box will appear:

Select the desired printer, and
click the “
” button
Clicking
on the button enables the user to print the map. Follow the instructions
below to print a map. (For detailed instructions about using this
function, Click on the print map heading for drop down instructions.)
+ SAVE MAP IMAGE TO FILE

Click the “
” button.
1. A pop-up will appear:

Right click on the map and select the “Save Picture
As” option.

2. The “Save As” box will appear.

Choose where to save the file on your computer and
click the “
.”
